You may have Adrenal Fatigue.
Adrenal Fatigue is a type of hormone imbalance that can go hand-in-hand with thyroid imbalances (Hypothyroidism or Hashimoto’s).
Typically, your cortisol (stress hormone) should spike in the morning and give you more energy. Then in the evening, cortisol should decrease so you can sleep.
However, when you have daily stresses, traumas, pregnancy or if you’re working out really intensely, you may start to experience Adrenal Fatigue. Instead of the spike in the morning, you’ll have trouble waking up and you will feel wired and tired at night. This can cause a lot of anxiety and prohibit you from losing weight.
Adrenal Fatigue takes a toll in your body and leads to chronic fatigue, food intolerances and feeling horrible ALL the time. As it progresses, you will develop total body exhaustion as your cortisol levels plummet. Unfortunately, many have to wait until this stage to finally see a diagnosis.

Stage 1: Stress Overload (high cortisol)

With any thyroid and/or hormone imbalance… “calories in vs calories out” weight loss methods are overridden.
When your body thinks it’s under a high stress situation, it will store additional carbs to be ready for fight or flight mode. However, these carbs are stored as excess fat.
